Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 20, 2026
This policy describes how FretWolf.com handles information when you visit the website.
Information and hosting
This site is a static website hosted with Netlify. It does not currently have an account system, contact form, or newsletter subscription, and FretWolf does not use this page to request personal information. Netlify may process technical information, such as connection and request data, to provide and protect its hosting services. See Netlify's Privacy Statement for information about Netlify's practices.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
The current site does not use FretWolf analytics or advertising cookies and does not display ads. Google AdSense is not enabled, and FretWolf has not entered into an agreement with Google AdSense.
The metronome generates audio in your browser. Its tempo and sound controls are not sent to FretWolf or saved by this site.
The Record Yourself tool captures audio from an input device only after you grant browser permission and connect it. Recording and playback happen locally in your browser; FretWolf does not upload or receive your audio or selected device name. Takes remain in page memory until you close or refresh the page. If you download a WAV file, your browser saves it to the location you choose.
The guitar tuner uses your chosen microphone or USB input after you grant browser permission and start it. Pitch analysis happens locally; the tuner does not record, save, or upload your audio. Stopping the tuner releases its audio input.
The Practice Player opens audio files you select from your device. Playback, speed changes, and practice loops happen locally. FretWolf does not upload or receive your files, filenames, or folder paths. The file list is kept only in the current page; select files again after closing or refreshing it.
The circle of fifths displays key signatures and generates chord audio locally in your browser. It does not access your microphone or files, upload your selections, or save your key, clef, or playback preferences between visits.
The Scales & fretboard tool displays musical patterns and generates note audio locally in your browser. It does not access your microphone or files, upload your selections, or save your pattern, fret range, or display preferences between visits.
Fretboard Trainer saves your selected settings and position-based practice weights in this browser's local storage on your device. These weights help missed positions appear more often; they are not uploaded or synced between devices. Reset progress clears the practice history while keeping your settings. Clearing this site's browser data removes both. Optional note audio is generated locally, without microphone access.
Guitar Workout saves your routines in this browser's local storage on your device. Routines are not sent to FretWolf. You can export them as a JSON file or import a backup; importing replaces the routines currently stored in that browser. Optional timer warning tones are generated locally in your browser when enabled.
If advertising, analytics, or other data-processing services are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe their actual practices before they are enabled, and any legally required notices and consent choices will be provided.
